Flir offers 20 percent discount on new for old IR cameras 05 September 2011

Flir is repeating its trade-in programme for old infrared cameras, and offering a 20% discount against list price, regardless of age or brand.

Additional accessories and software carry the same reduction, and the trade-in programme run from now until the close of the year.

This deal can amount to a cost saving of up to £5,642 but Flir says there's more to it than cash. Thanks to new features, the latest generation of thermographic cameras are far more cost effective in the long term as they allow quicker, added-value inspection.

More compact and lighter in weight, these models also provide a higher resolution and greater image clarity.

As a result, says Flir, not only are thermal anomalies easier to see, but also problems can be spotted over a greater distance – particularly useful for plant engineers operating in high voltage environments.
