The ‘Manufacturing Champions Awards 2018’ close in one month, with prizes including ‘Maintenance Champion’, ‘Energy & Environment Champion’ and ‘Employee Innovation’ up for grabs.

The awards, run by Manufacturing Management magazine, are now into their fifth year and aim to recognise individuals and teams that “make the UK’s factories and plants world-class”.

Among the categories available to enter is the Maintenance Award, which sets out to highlight the team or individual who seek to make downtime a thing of the past.

Another award up for grabs is the Employee Innovation Award – designed to highlight the team or individual whose bright idea has led to impressive on-site gains.

Meanwhile, new to this year, is the Energy & Environment Champion Award, which is looking for the employee or team who have done their bit for the planet – whether investing in energy-saving measures or making a site a haven for wildlife.

Overall, there are 10 Awards to be won, with the entry process closing on Friday 14 September. Other categories include ‘Health & Safety Champion’ and ‘Unsung Hero’.

A shortlist will then be decided by a judging panel of industry experts before the Awards Ceremony on 6 December.
