?EnerMech Ian Spenceley Spenceley will contribute to the organisation’s asset integrity management, O&M and shutdown and TAR capabilities.

EnerMech has appointed Ian Spenceley operations and maintenance (O&M) and asset management director as it continues to develop its specialist integrity and technical services globally.

With more than 30 years’ oil and gas experience, Spenceley will contribute to the organisation’s asset integrity management, O&M and shutdown and turnaround (TAR) capabilities.

Based in the UK and reporting to Carl Mook, regional director for Europe, Spenceley will also play a client facing role. Initially, this will involve the introduction and application of new smart processes, technologies, systems and specialist partnering solutions to support further efficiencies and maximise investment.

From a marine and mechanical engineering background, including time as a chief engineer in the Merchant Navy, Spenceley has senior leadership and operational experience in the upstream, downstream petrochemical, refining and asset management industries.

He has worked in the UK, the Philippines, Sakhalin Island, Oman/UAE, Azerbaijan, Indonesia, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore and South Africa for major integrated oil and gas companies. This included bp, Shell, Petroleum Development Oman Woodside and SOCAR, where he managed and led large complex functional and regional project and operational teams in some of the world’s most challenging environments.
