Website demonstrates compressed air energy savings06 April 2011

CompressingCarbon.com – which had its debut at the Hannover air this week – is CompAir's latest creation, aimed at assisting compressed air users with carbon-reduction.

The website gives practical advice on how operators can improve the energy performance of their compressed air installations and also showcases CompAir's range of energy-efficient products and solutions.

"Climate change is an issue that affects every European manufacturing site, from the small factory to the biggest processing plant," asserts CompAir marketing director, Frederique Gerard.

"As a result, there are certain legislative requirements to help lower greenhouse gas emissions, which can impact on some operators. But there are also a number of incentives to help manufacturers fund efficiency improvements – such as grants or tax-free loans to purchase new, energy-efficient equipment," he adds.

"Add to this the fact that over 10% of the electricity supplied to industry is used to power compressors and it's easy to see that the more manufactures can do to improve the efficiency of their compressor installations, the more they can do for the environment and their profitability," continues Gerard.
