TEI helps St George’s hospital to energy award shortlist 03 September 2012

Thermal Energy International's heat recovery system is proving so successful at reducing St George's Healthcare NHS Trust's carbon emissions and energy costs that the trust has been short-listed for the HSJ Award's Energy Efficiency Award.

TEI's flue gas condensing economisers are providing the trust with a heat recovery solution for use on its heating and hot water system.

The 31st year of the prestigious awards will take place in London on 25 September, and St George's has been shortlisted for demonstrating exceptional cost savings and efficiencies.

Carbon emissions are being reduced by around 2,800 tonnes a year, with energy consumption down by 15 million KWhr annually, according to TEI.

The important project will help St. George's Hospital Trust towards the key targets of reducing carbon emissions by 80% by the year 2050 now set by the UK government.
