Techcomp acquires spectrometers specialist Edinburgh Instruments 26 February 2013
Techcomp has acquired the majority holding of shares in lifetime fluorescence spectrometers, lasers and gas sensors manufacturer Edinburgh Instruments.
EI, which serves the scientific research and industrial markets from its base in Livingston, Scotland, was a pioneer of time correlated single photon counting (TCSPC) laser and gas sensing technologies.
"Our products provide research institutes world-wide with the most advanced photonic analytical capabilities available today," states Edinburgh Instruments chairman Dr Derek Shepherd.
"EI is now ready to start a new phase of development," he continues. "Techcomp's knowledge and global presence in our high-end analytical markets position them as the perfect partner to help release the full potential of our technologies."
