SunGift completes 250kWp solar PV array for Numatic International 28 March 2013
Renewable energy specialist SunGift Solar has completed a flagship 250kW solar PV system for Numatic International, manufacturer of the Henry vacuum cleaner.
The £250,000 installation by the Exeter-based company is expected to reduce the manufacturer's carbon emissions by more than 120 tonnes per year and will generate 235,000kWhr each year.
Energy bill savings and Feed-in Tariff payments are expected to amount to more than £50,000 per year, which means that it will have paid for itself in less than five years.
The system stretches over three roofs at Numatic's plant in Chard, Somerset, and will help power its thirty computer-controlled injection-moulding machines.
It took SunGift just under a month to complete and includes: 1,000 Canadian Solar CS6P-250M Monocrystalline 250W modules; 14 Sputnik Engineering SolarMax 15MT2 inverters; and two Sputnik Engineering SolarMax 10MT2 inverters.
"We chose SunGift on the strength of the very impressive, identically-sized system they had installed in 2012 at the Met Office premises in Exeter," comments Numatic property manager Andrew Smith.
"We are delighted with the work they have carried out for us. SunGift completed the system exactly on time and to an excellent standard, and their team was helpful, friendly and professional."
