Straightpoint launches load cell hire division01 February 2012

Straightpoint, which specialises in force measurement, load monitoring and suspended load cells, has gone public with its load cell hire division.

David Ayling, managing director of Straightpoint (UK), says it covers compression and tension load cells from 500kg to 300 tonnes, and explains that hire products can be shipped to anywhere in the world on a weekly or longer term basis.

Prices start at £80 per week, with all load cells pre-calibrated and supplied with certificates and a 12-month warranty.

"Hire services were introduced to meet the varying demands of our customers, especially in an economic climate where businesses cannot always afford to invest capital as easily," states Ayling.

"Whilst our load cells are an important safety measure for many industries, very often they are only required on a project basis," he adds.

The new service has already seen takers and one, Mike Whalen of RS Industrial, says it works well.

"We ... find it is an excellent option for RS Industrial, because the equipment we need is generally available from stock and of a type we couldn't usually get from our previous sources," he comments.

"Straightpoint Radio Link has solved this issue. To date we have been very pleased with the customer service, availability and delivery of the items required," he adds.
