Spectris set to acquire Omega Engineering 17 August 2011
Instrumentation and control specialist Spectris has signed an agreement to acquire process automation products firm Omega Engineering.
"We are delighted to have reached agreement to acquire the Omega Engineering business, which will bring a significant strategic growth platform to Spectris," comments John O'Higgins, chief executive of Spectris.
"With its focus on control of temperature, pressure, flow and other common industrial process measurements, Omega is a natural fit for our industrial controls segment, and enables us to expand our product offering to customers globally."
Spectris operates across four industrial areas: materials analysis, test and measurement, in-line instrumentation and industrial controls. The company is based in Egham, Surrey, and employs more than 6,400 people, with offices in over 30 countries.
