Share safety alerts07 April 2010
All sectors of industry are being urged to share information to help prevent accidents.
The HSE has revamped its Safety Bulletin system, which warns industry of problems with equipment, processes, procedures and substances – with bulletins now available automatically via email, text message or RSS feed.
HSE now wants industry to share this information in its own alerts.
HSE chair Judith Hackitt suggests that safety managers review the format and method of issuing alerts, share alert information with other industries and set up best practice forums.
"We are encouraged by the positive response we have already seen from a number of sectors, but we need to get all areas involved to maximise the benefits," says Hackitt.
"I am confident that British industry will rise to the challenge of protecting workers through this new system," she adds.
