Seminar to explain power of robotics for smaller sites 28 August 2014

ABB Robotics is to run a seminar and workshop at its Milton Keynes offices on 5 November 2014, aimed at helping smaller manufacturing operations appreciate the potential of current robotic automation.

Mike Wilson, general industry sales manager, for ABB Robotics in the UK, says that delegates will get a step-by-step guide to introducing robots to the factory floor.

The seminar will start by outlining key questions that must be asked to identify whether installing a robot might be beneficial – including assessing current productivity, health and safety, quality and resource utilisation.

It will then explain appropriate automation strategies, helping to identify areas that could benefit by installing a robot.

"Misconceptions about the cost, flexibility and complexity of robots are stopping many SME manufacturing companies from realising their true potential," insists Wilson.

"Our seminar and workshop has been designed to help businesses determine if a robot could be beneficial and the steps to take in specifying and installing the best solution for their requirements."
