Seepex’s new pump includes maintain-in-place features 27 May 2021

SEEPEX Rotor Joint Access technology provides quick and easy access to the rotor-side joint

The design of Seepex’s new BNM range of pumps features a suction casing that enables simplified access for rotor and stator removal without having to dismantle the rotor side joint.

As a result, maintenance time can be reduced by up to 80%, according to the manufacturer of progressive cavity pumps and macerators.

The suction casing and pressure branch remain in place, eliminating the need for pipework dismantling. The pump drive can then be quickly removed complete with mechanical seal, drive side universal joint and coupling rod.

The BNM range offers capacities up to 300 m3/hr and discharge pressures up to 48 bar can handle flowable to highly viscous products with a high dry solids content.

The pumps complement existing products’ features. Smart Conveying Technology (SCT) for smaller standard progressive cavity pumps enables the rotor/stator sealing line to be adjusted to suit the application and compensate for wear, leading to more than double the lifetime of the rotor and stator. Drive Joint Access (DJA) technology for open hopper pumps allows quick access to the joint on the drive side through a sliding joint housing mounted on rollers between the intake hopper and the protective frame of hopper pumps. All of these solutions are said to increase uptime and plant availability.
