Retro-fit mixing system beats submersible mixer problems 17 December 2012
System Mix has developed a so-called Mini Drop retrofit mixing system that can be installed in a tank without having to empty and clean it.
It can also use guide rails and lifting equipment, previously used for submersible mixers that may have failed, due to rag accumulation.
The company, which is a division of P&M Pumps, the UK distributor of Vaughan Chopper Pumps and Rotamix tank mixing systems, explains that this is a significant development, given the proliferation of inappropriate submersible, guide-rail type mounted mixers.
This type of system provides effective mixing for tanks where a suitable suction connection is available for re-circulation through the guide rail mounted vertical nozzle manifold header.
Given the success of other System Mix mixer solutions at the likes of Peacehaven (Southern Water), Howden (Northumbrian Water), Jaywick & Clacton (Anglian Water) and Mogden (Thames Water), this is worth checking out.
