Durapipe ABS keeps clean room air conditioning cool 04 November 2010
Durapipe ABS piping has been chosen to handle chilled water for the air conditioning of an ultra-clean room facility for Xaar, printing firm in Cambridge.
Environmental control specialist Comec says this particular pipework was selected for its light weight, ease of joining wide temperature capabilities and corrosion free properties.
Project manager Simon Martin says that to meet the control requirements, a high quality air conditioning system was needed, and adds that his firm has been impressed with the performance and quality of Durapipe ABS on similar applications in the past.
"We have used Durapipe ABS pipework in the past and have always been extremely pleased with the quality of the system and how lightweight and easy to install it is on site," says Martin.
"This project was an important and high profile job for us and we were keen to work with products that we had used before and knew would deliver the quality and performance they promised," he adds.
Durapipe ABS was specified in 50—125mm sizes to carry chilled water from an external chiller 90 metres from the building. Water is then transported into the pumping room and then on to the air conditioning system in the clean room.
