NSK launches Added Value Programme for 2014 24 April 2014
Bearings specialist NSK says that working with engineers in a wide range of industries has enabled the firm to develop expertise across applications and environments – expertise that is now translated into its AIP (Added Value Programme).
The firm says that AIP aims to improve efficiency, reduce breakdowns and so improve plant and factory profitability and competitiveness this year and beyond.
A spokesperson explains that identifying problems, their root causes and a range of potential solutions can be achieved as part of a structured, company-wide initiative using AIP.
He describes it as a standardised approach now adopted throughout the NSK organisation. "With a simplified process, it makes it logical for customers to buy into and understand the process," he says. "And it shows them how NSK can add value to their businesses."
As part of its AIP programme, NSKs engineering team offers to audit all aspects of a site's operations, including systems, stock, problem applications, lubrication and training.
An analysis of the data is then performed, which leads to recommendations around products, solutions and training to achieve improvements.
