Nov Mono survey points to maintenance budget wastage 24 May 2010

More than one third of process and maintenance engineers are wasting "vast amounts" of their maintenance budgets, because they do not realise they can buy high performance, cost effective non-OEM replacement parts for progressing cavity pumps.

That's among key findings of an industry study commissioned by supplier Nov Mon, which reveals that over half of engineers always purchase 'genuine' parts from the OEM when maintaining their PC pumps, while a third are unaware that it is possible even to buy alternative parts.

Mark Viner, Nov Mono European sales manager, says that, with half of the survey respondents indicating that rising equipment maintenance costs are a growing concern, these should be surprising statistics.

"The survey confirmed our belief that spiralling equipment maintenance costs are becoming a growing concern for the sector, and process and maintenance engineers need practical solutions to help bring them under control," comments Viner.

"However, the fact that a significant proportion of the industry is unaware that it is possible to buy non-branded replacement parts for maintaining PC pumps, means that many could very quickly make a significant saving by switching from OEM parts to these high performance alternatives," he adds.
