ShaftAlign Touch is a combination of software and hardware innovations enabling maintenance teams to address a wide variety of alignment challenges that basic laser alignment systems cannot handle, it says.
It also delivers premium ‘adaptive alignment’ capabilities that, until now, were not available in an entry-level system. A variety of coupling types are offered, including short flex coupling, spacer shafts, single-plane couplings and uncoupled shafts.
The Shaftalign Touch rugged device display features a coloured 3D user interface and WiFi connectivity to reach the ARC 4.0 PC software for storing, sharing, evaluating and tending alignment data. It works with the sensALIGN 3 sensor and a prism reflector.
Two innovations – single-laser technology and Active Situational Intelligence – differentiate ShaftAlign Touch from the competition. Together, they are said to enable Prüftechnik alignment products to automatically adapt – in real time, as alignment jobs are finished – to the asset, the situation, and the user's experience level.
According to the company, adaptive alignment adapts to virtually all rotating assets, from standard machines (motor pumps) to more complex equipment such as machine trains, gearboxes and cardan shafts.
The Pruftechnik proprietary Active Situational Intelligence (ASI) software enables the automatic adjustment to common challenges such as coupling backlash, environmental conditions, and gross misalignments.
