New fleet for Ecolab 15 April 2019

Ecolab, a global provider of water, hygiene and energy technologies and services to the food, energy, healthcare, industrial and hospitality markets, has invested in a fleet of new vans and cars from Peugeot to service its expanding business in the UK and Ireland.

The new Ecolab Peugeot LCV fleet is made up of Partner and Expert vans. These will be put to work for the company’s Pest and Water Divisions, with some vehicles used at Ecolab’s manufacturing sites.

The vans have all been converted by racking specialist Tevo to meet Ecolab’s operational user requirements. The cars being supplied to Ecolab include 3008 SUV and 308 SW models.

“Ecolab needs efficient, fit for purpose vehicles providing optimum whole life cost”, says Gerallt Williams, Ecolab country manager for the UK and Ireland and European safety and security manager. “The Partner has proven reliability, competitive fuel efficiency and meets our objectives with regard to sustainability. Furthermore, warranty and goodwill support from Groupe PSA with regard to technical issues is second to none.”

Ecolab operates circa 5,000 vehicles across its European operations with 1,000 vehicles in the UK and Ireland, of which over 400 are dedicated LCVs. The new fleet has been funded by LeasePlan UK, which will provide the new Peugeot fleet on a four-year contract that includes maintenance and accident management.

“We’re working with Ecolab and Peugeot to ensure Ecolab’s fleet is operating as efficiently as possible to support its key business objectives now and in the future, especially as we consider the shift to electric vehicles,” adds Mark Lovett, head of commercial vehicles at LeasePlan UK. “We hope to achieve this through our expert consultation, alongside maintenance prediction and monitoring, to ensure a more proactive approach is taken to help Ecolab prepare for, and mitigate against, any disruption.”
