Nearing first anniversary, Operations Engineer magazine welcomes new staff member 08 July 2019

Operations Engineer magazine, the monthly magazine about maintaining and running fixed and mobile plant, which is published for members of the Society of Operations Engineers, announces the appointment of Beverly Jepson (pictured) as sales manager to oversee the magazine’s commercial growth. Jepson is an alumnus of IML’s Control Engineering titles, among others.

It has been a busy time for Operations Engineer, which is nearing the first anniversary of its relaunch (November 2018) from prior incarnation Plant Engineer, a publication first published in 1947. That process included an extensive member survey, a redesign, changes in personnel, and an increase in publication frequency.

Change has also been the constant at the SOE, too. Since September 2018, it has announced the formation of its fourth professional sector for Operations Engineers, which joins the existing sectors for Plant Engineers, Engineering Surveyors and Road Transport Engineers. A sophisticated new website and member portal on www.soe.org.uk has been rolled out. And it has organized a new all-member conference, the SOE Symposium, scheduled for 7 November in Birmingham.

“As a professional engineering institution, we work hard to offer the best possible resources for our members, to support their continuing professional development. The changes that we are making to the Operations Engineer magazine, including welcoming Beverly Jepson to the team, are just one part of that,” said Bruce McGill, CEO of the Society of Operations Engineers.

Operations Engineer magazine is produced by MA Business, a division of Mark Allen Group, on behalf of the Society of Operations Engineers.
