Micro-emulsion gets Rolls-Royce seal of approval 27 September 2013
Rolls-Royce has given its full CSS 127 supply specification approval to Master Chemical's TRIM MicroSol 585XT semi-synthetic micro emulsion.
The cutting and grinding fluid is claimed to give the performance of a premium soluble oil, in terms of tool life without compromising parts quality through residue build-up.
Rolls-Royce says it also provides excellent cooling and mechanical lubrication, which is particularly important in the production of aerospace parts.
Commonly used titanium alloys are poor thermal conductors and any heat generated during the cutting process can dull cutting tools very quickly.
Developed at the Master Chemical laboratories in USA, in partnership with major aerospace companies, this fluid is formaldehyde donor free and contains no chlorinated or sulphurised EP additives.
