Lutterworth Ecolighting makes light work for CDA 14 February 2014
Kitchen appliances manufacturer CDA is reporting a 100% improvement in lighting levels and a massive reduction in energy consumption since installing a replacement lighting system from Lutterworth Ecolighting.
The Langar, Nottinghamshire-based firm says that light levels in one of its warehouse buildings were poor so Lutterworth Ecolighting was tasked with specifying and installing a new system.
The firm replaced 86 metal halide discharge and T12 fittings with its own energy-efficient products, with its engineers installing a total of 102 Rackmaster and Industrial High Saver fittings above the warehouse racking and aisles.
Chris Thomas, logistics manager at CDA, says that despite the greater number of fittings and the vast improvement in lux levels, the solution has resulted in energy savings in excess of 85% and an annual CO2 reduction of 58,339kg. Return on investment will be less than three years.
"The brighter lighting has made a dramatic improvement to the working environment for our warehouse operatives," states Thomas.
"The energy and environmental savings are equally impressive, so much so that we have asked Lutterworth Ecolighting to replace the lighting in some of our other on site facilities much sooner than planned."
