Lorien awarded Windsor Great Park biomass heat contract 17 October 2013
The Crown Estate has appointed Midlands-based Lorien Engineering Solutions to design and project manage a woodchip boiler and district heating system, to be installed at Windsor Great Park.
The scheme will use woodchip produced locally from Crown Estate forests, and will serve more than 60 domestic properties and commercial buildings.
The commission follows an initial feasibility report completed by Burton-based Lorien, which considered biomass options, along with the potential for generating wood chip from forestry activities.
"We are excited to be involved in this project for The Crown Estate, which sees us build on our extensive track record of delivering complex renewable energy schemes within sensitive, historic environments," comments Lorien project manager Tom Jordan.
