Kellogg’s deepens ties with EJ Musk06 June 2023

Kellogg’s EJ Musk Process Services David Mallinson, managing director at Musk

Kellogg’s is to use a digital solution from EJ Musk Process Services to improve maintenance practices at its Trafford Park site in Manchester.

The platform offers big picture visibility, automating task tracking and metre readings while delivering real-time maintenance information to all team members. The increased visibility and intelligence delivered is expected to drive improvements in maintaining regulatory standards and whole-life cost of ownership for Kellogg’s assets.

Scott Lowery, technical and reliability manager at Kellogg’s, said: “The data insight generated will provide more targeted maintenance activities and will support our broader strategy for improved reliability and sustainability.”

The move is part of a five-year contract extension with EJ Musk, part of the Edwin James Group, which will cover heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, waste water plant and utilities maintenance.

The Edwin James Group has more than four decades of experience providing Kellogg’s with a range of services that ensure production environments continue to run efficiently, including steel and pipework manufacture, mechanical and electrical engineering, systems integration and supporting digitalisation activities.

David Mallinson, managing director at Musk, said: “The maintenance elements involved in this new contract are large and complex, requiring specialist expertise and skills not usually seen in a typical facilities management agreement. Our understanding of Kellogg’s and the food manufacturing and production process put us in a strong position and we’re looking forward to working with the team to drive greater productivity and reliability.”
