Although print versions will still be available, the IET is encouraging all electrical professionals to take advantage of Electrical Standards Plus, which, it says, offers "a host of benefits".
Geoff Cronshaw, chief electrical engineer at the IET, says Electrical Standards Plus also gives electrical professionals the peace of mind that their copy of key IET publications is always up to date.
"Electrical Standards Plus is the only place to get digital versions of BS 7671 and the whole suite of accompanying IET guidance books," states Cronshaw.
"Furthermore, anyone purchasing a subscription to the new platform will be given the peace of mind that they are using a genuine version of an IET publication," he adds.
Cronshaw also makes the point that many electrical and plant engineers are mobile, moving between jobs and projects on a daily basis.
"The new Electrical Standards Plus supports this greatly, giving them the ability to find the information they need at the click of a button, without the need to carry heavy and detailed books."
Bronze, Silver and Gold subscriptions allow engineers and technicians to spread the cost, and access appropriate packages relevant to their requirements.
As well as being available to access from standard PCs, Electrical Standards Plus also gives access to the up-to-date IET wiring publications via tablet devices.
