High Speed Sustainable Manufacturing Institute welcomes Ubisense 12 August 2013
location-based technology specialist Ubisense has joined the HSSMI (High Speed Sustainable Manufacturing Institute).
The organisation will now provide 'smart factory' expertise to members, including Ford, Loughborough University and Autodesk, working on innovative manufacturing techniques.
Indeed, Ubisense has already set up a research system at HSSMI's facilities in Rainham, Essex, aimed at conducting research into new 'smart factory' applications for mission-critical assembly lines.
"We are very pleased to have Ubisense as members, as we see advanced real-time location technology playing a vital role in enhancing the manufacturing assembly and supply chains," states Simon Barnes, business development manager at HSSMI.
"The manufacturing research facilities at HSSMI are world class and provide us with an excellent environment where we can develop and test new engineering processes that will bring valuable and lasting benefits to many manufacturers," comments John Parker, vice president of marketing at Ubisense.
