Giant power pack shakes factory approval team 14 August 2012
Zetatek Industries has approved one of the biggest hydraulic power packs to be built in the UK in the last 12 months – a 2MW unit designed and built by Branch Hydraulic Systems.
Representatives from the Indian company, along with servo-hydraulic test and motion simulation specialist Servotest Testing Systems, met with the Branch Hydraulic Systems team recently for formal sign off.
Designed to drive a large earthquake simulator for use by the Indian Nuclear Research facility, the power pack was checked for accuracy, build quality and the quality.
"Customers are often unable to visualise the size and scale of a system when they see it on paper, but when they see it complete – especially one like this, with such giant proportions – it really takes them by surprise," comments Branch Hydraulic Systems technical director Alex Tatlow.
"Seeing it here today, finished to such a high standard, it makes us feel really rather proud to be sending this to India, as an example of British engineering capability," he adds.
