DiPerk has invested in the facilities, located in the West Midlands and Dublin, Ireland, in a move to ensure it has greater control over its parts provision.
Dan Rolfe, head of DiPerk Power Solutions, said: “The decision to build up our warehousing and logistics capability seeks to address some of the supply challenges we’ve experienced over the last eighteen months and means we can provide a more localised and robust supply of parts to meet the critical needs of our customers.”
“In the last year, we’ve been building up our inventory of Perkins parts focusing on critical components so we’re able to offer a more reliable and efficient parts service to our customers.
“The supply of Perkins parts has been impacted by several external factors over the last eighteen months, and we understand the frustration this has caused for many of our customers.
“Having the ability to control the levels of Perkins stock we’re able to hold at our regional distribution centres, will enable us to provide our customers with a better parts fulfilment service, serving their needs from two strategically placed facilities.”
The centres currently hold more than £1million worth of Perkins engine parts and products ranging from sump bungs to complete engines.
DiPerk believes the investment in its distribution and inventory of engine parts will enable it to support customers and help provide a more regular supply of parts and products.
Rolfe continued: “We have a range of parts currently in stock, including some rebuild and service components. Having availability means we can minimise customer repair time, which is vital for our customers, many of whom work in power critical sectors including hospitals, data centres, motorway floodlighting, marine construction, and agriculture so it’s imperative that any downtime is kept to an absolute minimum.
“We’re also increasing our shipments on a weekly basis. Almost 50% of parts requested by customers in England are now being shipped from the distribution facility in the West Midlands.
“We will also continue to build up the inventory of Perkins parts and products at the warehousing facility in Dublin, so we can offer an improved parts supply service to our customers across Ireland too.”
