Condition monitoring consultancy chooses Flir thermal cameras 08 February 2012
3i Condition Monitoring Consultancy has been accredited as a distributor for the entire range of Flir thermal imaging cameras.
The Stockport, Cheshire-based company was already a Flir infrared training centre partner, driven by founder Saira Dar, who is a Level III thermographer.
Dar has particular expertise in the paper production and food processing industries, but 3i's client-base also includes data centres and public sector institutions, such as hospitals, where the organisation uses thermal cameras for predictive maintenance.
"I've been involved in thermography for 16 years and have experience of many other brands [but] I have always favoured Flir cameras, because they are rugged, well designed, easy-to-use and benefit from good technical support," comments Dar.
Flir camera available from 3i Condition Monitoring extend from the troubleshooting i-Series up to the T- and P-Series for advanced thermal analysis and reporting.
Dar uses Flir P660 and T640 cameras for 3i's consultancy work, primarily because the high resolution of these models and their facility to analyse images within the camera, she says.
"While the low-end cameras are good troubleshooting tools, they do have their limitations," states Dar. "And that's why every user should have at least a Level 1 certification. They need to understand the performance differences between the various grades of camera to encourage better usage so the reputation of the technology isn't compromised."
