CompAir and Hydrovane oldest compressor competition 09 January 2014
CompAir and Hydrovane have launched a competition to find the UK's oldest working compressors, with the two winners getting a weekend for two in London, including a meal at the City's oldest restaurant.
The two brands – both now part of Gardner Denver – are making the reliability, durability and engineering heritage points, and hence the search for vintage CompAir or Hydrovane compressors that are still running.
The competition is free to enter for all UK plants and entrants are also entitled to free energy audits from authorised distributors, aimed at identifying current energy usage and compressed air requirements.
"When it comes to compressed air, it's safe to say we know our stuff," comments Colin Mander, regional director for Gardner Denver.
"The origins of CompAir can be traced back to two British companies, Holman and BroomWade, with over 200 years of experience in the market place, whereas Hydrovane has designed and developed rotary vane compressors since the sixties."
