Amey awarded three RoSPA awards10 May 2019
Infrastructure support service provider Amey has been awarded three prestigious recognitions by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) for its improving health and safety practices.
Both Amey’s Rail business and Amey Consulting have received the President's Award (recognising 10 consecutive years of gold award status), while Amey’s Utilities business has received a Gold Medal for the first time (recognising six consecutive years of gold awards).
The RoSPA Awards scheme, which receives entries from organisations around the world, recognises achievement in health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.
Andy Milner, Amey’s chief executive, says: “It’s great news we’ve been recognised for the work we do to help keep our people safe. We will not, however, become complacent. We will continue to relentlessly pursue our goal of Target Zero to protect our workforce, our suppliers, as well as members of the communities in which we work.”
Gary Booton, group HSEQ director for Amey, adds: “Target Zero is a core strategic objective for our business and we will carry on investing in our processes, activities and practices to reach our goal of Target Zero. Our health and safety behavioural framework, Zero Code, outlines the behaviours all employees need to adopt to keep themselves and others safe from harm and we’re constantly engaging with our people to improve ways of working and keep safety front of mind.”
The awards will be presented during a ceremony at Hilton Birmingham Metropole on Thursday, June 6, 2019. Amey's Highways, FM, Defence and Justice businesses, all received Silver awards last year, and now hope to build on this success when RoSPA announce their next wave of awards later in the year.
