Comment: Welcome07 October 2019
Welcome to Operations Engineer (OE) magazine issue #12. A strange introduction perhaps, but this is a number that I have been counting towards all year. Why? Because OE has now completed a whole one-year cycle since it was relaunched from its old title Plant Engineer at Maintec 2018.
It was at the NEC in Birmingham that industry was introduced to the new-look magazine, which is distributed free of charge to members of the Society of Operations Engineers (SOE), with the aim of improving knowledge, promoting technology, and promoting safety and sustainability.
Last year, readers expressed great interest and excitement in updating and breathing new life into the magazine, and we listened. Just like engineers and technicians, who strive to become better, so does this magazine. We have worked hard over the past year to bring a range of engaging content to the fore, from news, products and case studies, to a range of light and heavy reading features, such as site and project profiles, technology roundups, exploration articles, tip and advice pieces, and event write-ups. We have even expanded the team in recent months (www.is.gd/jokiri).
So please, let us know what you think of the magazine and its content. Are we hitting the right notes? What do and don’t you like? My email address is above, or you can catch me at Maintec 2019 (30-31 October, NEC, Birmingham, www.is.gd/afomiz). Here, is to the future. Cheers.
