Siemens sees over £1 million worth of growth for motion control business28 February 2012
Siemens Industry Automation & Drive Technologies has revealed that its engineered drives and motion control business has seen more than £1 million worth of new business growth over the last year.
Andrew Peters, divisional director of Drive Technologies at Siemens IA&DT, says growth is the result of implementing a collaborative partnership with HMK Technical Services, based in Congleton.
"We have a long-standing relationship with HMK that has been very successful, but it's important to both businesses that we constantly evaluate our processes," explains Peters.
"So 12 months ago we readdressed our strategy and implemented a new working practice that puts the emphasis on collaboration between our team and HMK's. This further ensures our solutions for the end user meet their exact and evolving needs," he continues.
"We understand that the current operating environment is a challenging one, so our focus on delivering solutions for improved operational efficiency, safety and energy efficiency, is aimed at easing the pressure on operating margins," adds Peters.
"The mechatronic packages we provide are clearly in demand from customers and building on this offering with a more holistic approach between the two organisations has been hugely beneficial," comments Carl Krajewski, CEO of the HMK Group.
"We have set ourselves ambitious targets for further growth over the next two years and will continue to improve on our offering," he says.
