With a sensing range from 0,05 to 6 meters and a wide-angle characteristic of ±85°, the E3AS-HF time-of-flight (ToF) sensor is said to ensure reliable operation regardless of colour, shape, or material—simplifying sensor selection and setup.
The ToF method measures distance based on elapsed time, making detection unaffected by colour or material. With the patented ultra-fast sampling at 10 billion times per second, it accumulates 10 million data points to generate a clear incident light waveform while minimising noise. This enables the sensor to detect even low-reflective workpieces like black rubber from a long distance.
The high-frequency circuit technology, within the Laser Class 1 design, uses a narrow pulse width that maximises emission within safety limits. This eliminates the need for additional protective measures and allows for a compact and effective system setup. Another key feature, the avalanche photodiode (APD) controlling algorithm, detects even minimal incident light. With the built-in real-time temperature element, the sensor reduces characteristics variation and ensures stable sensing.
Thanks to its extended range and wide-angle detection, the E3AS-HF can be installed further from moving machinery, minimising collisions, misalignment, and downtime. Its robust IP67/IP69K-rated die-cast aluminium housing and antifouling coatings provide durability in harsh conditions, including dust, moisture and high-pressure cleaning.
The built-in automatic mutual interference prevention function helps maintain stable operation even in applications where multiple sensors are used in close proximity.
Ideal for industrial automation applications in automotive, packaging and logistics industries, the E3AS-HF enables stable detection of complex or low-reflective surfaces. From identifying vehicle models in assembly lines to detecting pallets in automated warehouses, this sensor supports a range of applications while ensuring integration into existing systems.
