Mechan lifting jacks in demand03 June 2019
Rail maintenance equipment specialist Mechan is enjoying record-breaking demand for its lifting jacks, securing orders for more than 160 already this year.
Most of the jacks specified so far are being built for UK rail depots, although sets will also be heading to France and New Zealand.
“Thanks to continued investment in UK infrastructure, demand has surged, and with various franchise developments and depot enhancements expected in the next couple of years, we can see plenty of opportunities to build on this success,” says Mechan sales manager Lindsey Mills.
All Mechan’s lifting and handling products are assembled at its South Yorkshire headquarters, using parts sourced from local suppliers.
In addition to building new jacks, Mechan will also be refurbishing a set of 20, currently in operation at a UK rail depot, to enhance their productivity and extend their useful lifespan.
