Hundredth motor control centre built for mobile power plant 24 October 2013
A decade-long partnership has helped Siemens technology partner Saftronics build its hundredth motor control centre for use in mobile power plants.
Its MCCs operate on trailers generating up to 30MW of power, providing temporary supplies around the world – most recently in the aftermath of the Japanese earthquake.
William McMeeking, from Saftronics, explains that his company works with Siemens Industry on both Sivacon power distribution boards and motor control centres.
Sivacon is robust and reliable, hje says, adding that its small footprint and high stacking density make it ideal for use in mobile power plant.
"To have built our one hundredth Sivacon MCC for the same customer is testament to the quality of the product and skills of the Saftronics team in meeting the bespoke needs of each application," states McMeeking.
"Through our close working relationships with Siemens, we are able to provide MCCs to ensure mobile power plants supply essential power when it's really needed and when reliability needs to be trusted," he adds.
