The rise in fuel costs has seen a sharp increase in energy intensive companies looking for cheaper solutions to power their businesses. ABC Power Systems has responded to this demand by using generators to provide power and heat through cost saving power purchase agreements (PPA).
To ensure the right level of supply, Finning worked with ABC to design and build a containerised solution using Cat CG132 generators.
The Cat CG132 generators are said to provide 80,000 operating hours and with low oil consumption, with an electrical output of up to 1000kWel and increased electrical efficiency of up to 43.5 percent.
Alan Carter, director of ABC Power Systems, said: “Manufacturers - often in production critical industries – are facing phenomenal energy bills as prices have risen steeply across the last two years. Energy intensive industries need to have reliable power while maintaining operational efficiency, and as such the demand for a reliable solution at a lower price point has rocketed.
“PPAs allow companies to take matters into their own hands by securing energy deals at a discounted level that firms know they can rely on.”
Scott Tamplin, Finning sales manager for low carbon and gas CHP, said: “As a high efficiency generator, the Cat CG132 supports savings on operational costs with long maintenance intervals maximising uptime to further increase efficiency, which is essential when providing a discounted energy alternative.”
