A combination of factors have lined up in the creation of this new division, such as an increase in British production and manufacturing across a range of sectors, as well as the national surge in online retail during the pandemic and beyond.
In the last few years, the business, headquartered in Leicester and with 10 branches throughout the Midlands, has supported its engineering and manufacturing customers through a continued uptick in demand for candidates as well as leading its logistics customers through some of the biggest peaks on record with round-the-clock recruitment expertise.
As a result, it says, there is an emerging demand for more maintenance engineers, not only to keep sites such as warehouses and other large logistics facilities running smoothly, but also to fill more and more roles arising due to a growth in types and numbers of products being made in the UK, from start-ups to big name brands.
Experienced specialist recruiter Mikey Phillips, who joined Encore in 2020, heads up the business’s newest division. Mikey added that the big-picture aim was to develop of team of three or four specialists by the end of 2022, adding a new team member roughly every quarter as demand increases.
Operations director at Encore, Louise Bragg, who will oversee the new division, added: “There is certainly a growing need for skilled, reliable and most importantly experienced maintenance engineers – which we’ve noted from our existing customers – and so we’re confident we can fill this gap in the market with a tailored and bespoke recruitment solution for both long-standing and new clients.”
