David Palmer-Jones kicks off Energy from Waste essays 23 June 2014
The Energy from Waste essays – a monthly series from the Energy from Waste conference and Recycling and Waste World magazine (both from the Mark Allen group) have started publication.
The first issue, out now, features SITA UK chief executive David Palmer-Jones, soon to be president of FEAD, the European Federation representing the waste management industry.
Palmer-Jones looks at the implications of the EU's (European Union) recently published draft 'Communication, Towards a Circular Economy - A Zero Waste Programme for Europe', and what it might mean for the waste, resource management and energy from waste industries.
Energy from Waste conference manager Julia Pugh-Cook explains that the new essay series is designed to shed light on what is an increasingly complex, diverse yet high-growth field.
Each month "one of the top minds in waste, resource management and waste to energy" will provide an analysis of key issues for the industry, she says.
"The Energy from Waste Essays are an exciting development, and will be invaluable for professionals in the sector who want to keep abreast of the latest opinions," states Pugh-Cook.
"As the essay series progresses we will bring insights from many of the industry's top thinkers," she adds.
