Compressor puts a spring in water bottling performance06 December 2010
Wardle Spring Water has installed a new energy-efficient compressor for its water filtration and bottling plant, as part of a modernisation programme.
Lee Hardman, Wardle Spring Water's company secretary, says the Rochdale production plant went for a Thorite HPC SXC 5.5kW compressor for its reliability and promised cost savings.
"Our previous compressor used to be pounding away non-stop, from the moment it was turned on in the morning until close down," comments Hardman.
"The new HPC machine senses when compressed air is required and quietly clicks on and off to meet demand, which is going to bring the company worthwhile long term savings in energy costs."
