Carbon cutting lighting service aims to ease plant retrofits 11 March 2011
Low-carbon retrofit technologies specialist Energys Group has launched a service providing hands-on training for sites wanting to install its lighting converter, Save It Easy.
Aidan Salter, Energys managing director, explains that Save It Easy converters, which allow T5 energy-efficient fluorescent lamps to be slotted into the existing fittings, are a hassle-free method of cutting carbon and reducing electricity bills.
Energys trainers, he says, will give instruction on proper installation methods to cover all light fitting types (switch start, rapid start etc) and provide a risk assessment of the project, while also advising on health and safety.
"Energys is launching its new training and commissioning service in response to the requests of customers that wish to undertake their own installations of Save It Easy, but would prefer additional guidance on how best to do so," explains Salter.
"By working with customers, we can ensure their peace of mind, by getting them completely up-to-speed on the technology before the installation – and, if necessary, verifying that everything has been installed correctly after the installation."
