The CABE Gold Service Award is given to a CABE member who has gone above and beyond in making a substantial contribution towards the advancement of the association at a regional, national or international level.
The first Gold Service Award of 2025 was presented to CABE patron, John Lytton Hon FCABE.
Lytton is a chartered surveyor and an active contributor to the House of Lords. Since becoming CABE’s patron in 2014, he has created partnerships for the association throughout his network of industry and government contacts. His support of the association has helped to raise its profile and influence within the building and construction industry.
The Gold Service Award was presented to Lytton in recognition of his continual support, and in honour of all the work that he has done sharing the values of CABE, and its objectives, throughout the construction industry.
The second Gold Service Award was presented to Dave Courtney FCABE.
Courtney has been a CABE member for over 20 years and a chartered fellow for more than 10 of these. Whilst running his own multi-disciplinary professional practice, offering a range of services including planning permission applications, percolation tests and pre-purchase surveys, he has dedicated his free time to CABE, previously volunteering to be chair of the Republic of Ireland Regional committee and sitting on the board for two three-year terms.
His commitment to CABE has been unwavering and this award goes in some part to thank him for the work that he has done and for his support in shaping CABE’s strategic direction.
The Gold Service Award is one of the association’s most prestigious awards and recognises the work of members who volunteer their time to help to progress the goal of the association. CABE is run by its members for its members, and it is with the support of members such as Lord Lytton and Dave Courtney that the Association is able to deliver on its goals.
