Brevini repair service keeps the big wheels spinning14 January 2011

Brevini has been working recently with some of the UK's top theme parks, including Pleasure Beach, Blackpool and Cleethorpes' Pleasure Island, to repair and replace worn gearboxes on rides.

These include heavy duty bevel-helical gearboxes and compact, high-reduction planetary gearboxes.

Dave Brown, Brevini sales manager, says that, as with any machinery operating in the public domain, theme park and fairground rides need to be maintained to an extremely high standard.

Rides are often subjected to high stress loads and external conditions which, coupled with regular use, can mean that regular maintenance is required, he suggests.

"Our repair service is in the unique position of having the support and wealth of knowledge that comes from decades of experience of manufacturing gearboxes," says Brown.

"We are able to identify whether a drive needs to be repaired or replaced depending on its use and the conditions it is subjected to. Our service engineers are able to identify components that require service or, where necessary, design a whole new drive solution tailored to the parameters of the application," he adds.
