Brammer helps make hospice refurbishment possible 14 December 2010

Industrial maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) specialist Brammer has donated £8,000 worth of materials for a refurbishment project at a Wolverhampton hospice.

Brammer has supplied equipment to replace lighting at the Compton Hospice's coffee shop, as part of the Golden Envelope Challenge – a community project run by Tarmac.

The refurbished shop was officially reopened by the Mayor of Wolverhampton, Councillor Malcolm Gwinnett, along with Tarmac chief executive Terry Last.

Simon Cater, corporate fundraiser at Compton Hospice, says: "The work has completely transformed the coffee shop, which we hope will make the venue a meeting place for people across the city."

And he adds: "The project will have a lasting effect not only for customers of the coffee shop but for patient care at the hospice."

Says Brynn Woods, purchasing and distribution director for Brammer: "Brammer's national distribution centre is in Wolverhampton, and we are always keen to support local community initiatives. Some of our employees have been touched personally by the work of the hospice and we are delighted to be able to help its vital efforts through this donation."
